Iran allocates $820m to import staples

TEHRAN – President Mahmud Ahmadinejad issued the order for allocating $820 million to the import of staple foods.
The order which addresses the Ministry of Commerce, the Central Bank, and the vice president for strategic and planning affairs, has obliged the Government Trading Corporation of Iran on behalf of the commerce ministry to buy $820 million worth of staple foods, especially wheat.The order is in line with the approval of the cabinet of ministers for the commerce ministry’s proposal as per the Article 138 of the Constitution
